Clasificación del Objeto: Keter

Procedimientos Especiales de Contención: Debido a la naturaleza de la anomalía, los esfuerzos de contención se centrarán en la monitoreo de nuevos casos.

Descripción: SCP-ES-XXX es una tendencia probabilista recurrente vinculada al Raphus cucullatus.1

Aunque la verdadera extensión del fenómeno aún no ha sido totalmente definida, se cree que cualquier medio físico que pudiera ser vinculado directa o parcialmente con la susodicha especie tendrá una alta tasa de probabilidad de manifestar efectos o adquirir propiedades anómalas.

Esto ha dado como resultado diversas anomalías independientes:

SCP-ES-XXX-A define a un conjunto variado de reconstrucciones, modelos y representaciones de la especie, todas las cuales adquirieron autonomía en algún punto por medios desconocidos.

Todas las instancias son sensibles, conscientes de su entono y muestran el comportamiento general de un animal vivo.

Las instancias no han mostrado ningún tipo de comportamiento reproductivo y no parecen requerir ningún tipo de sustento.

Pese a no necesitarlo, algunos ejemplares buscarán alimentarse activamente. Permitirles la actividad ha demostrado aumentar la docilidad y reducir los niveles de estrés.

A continuación se adjunta se adjunta una tabla resumida de las instancias contenidas hasta la fecha:

12 Representaciones artísticas Todas las piezas se hallan en formato físico; siendo la más antigua una copia al oleo del dodo de Mansur que data de 1720, y la más reciente la impresión de una reconstrucción digital de 2019.

SCP-ES-XXX-B

SCP-ES-XXX-B designa a una serie de objetos vinculados indirecta o conceptualmente con el susodicho animal, todas las cuales han adquirido propiedades anómalas.

SCP-ES-XXX-B-1 es un espécimen de Sideroxylon grandiflorum, el ejemplar no muestra desviaciones obvias de otros ejemplares. Si uno de sus frutos ingresa al tracto digestivo de un organismo de la clase Aves el mismo experimentará un brusco aumento o disminución de masa así como una serie de alteraciones morfológicas hasta asemejarse físicamente a un ejemplar de Raphus cucullatus. La transformación se revierte tras la expulsión del fruto o sus restos del sistema. Nótese que la coloración o tipo de plumaje original no se verán alterados.

SCP-ES-XXX-B-2 denomina a un vagón jaula, el mismo parece albergar a una entidad metafísica ligada al concepto de ave extinta.

Debido a la predominancia del dodo como arquetipo de dicha idea en la noosfera2, la gran mayoría de los sujetos perciben a la entidad en la forma de un ejemplar arquetipico de Raphus cucullatus. Aunque la apariencia, tamaño y otros rasgos de la instancia varían entre individuos debido a la interpretación personal de cada individuo respecto al concepto.

Cabe destacar que la instancia es percibida independientemente del si el sujeto es consciente o no el cartel.

Aunque es posible acceder al vagón, la entidad no es capaz o no desea abandonar el recinto. A causa de su propia naturaleza, la instancia no es perceptible en medios de registro audiovisual, sin embargo es capaz de interactuar parcialmente con su entorno.

En considerable menor medida, otros aspectos adoptados por la entidad han incluido:

  • Paloma migratoria (Ectopistes migratorius).
  • Miembro no identificado de la familia Phorusrhacidae
  • Diversas criaturas que asemejan morfológicamente a miembros del orden Pterosauria.
  • Variaciones que combinan, estilizan o exageran uno o más rasgos de los animales mencionados.

SCP-ES-XXX-B-3 se trata de un gallinero artesanal de madera. Si a un ave de al menos 5 kg se le permite depositar e incubar sus huevos, entre el 60 al 80 % de los huevos que eclosionen el polluelo pertenecerá a la especie Raphus cucullatus.Todos los ejemplares parecen ser estériles y solo un 10 % de los mismos alcanza la edad adulta.

SCP-ES-XXX-B-3 no muestro rasgos destacables a excepción de que la madera que compone la estructura proviene enteramente de Mimusops balata, Diospyros tessellaria y Sideroxylon grandiflorum, especies arbóreas endémicas de Mauricio.

SCP-ES-XXX-C

SCP-ES-XXX-C se refiere a una manifestación atípica y cada vez más pronunciada de ciertos rasgos morfológicos en miembros del orden Columbiformes.

SCP-ES-XXX-C parece tratarse de una reversión evolutiva anómala pues no responde a adaptaciones ambientales u otros factores que suelen causarla, a su vez los cambios se manifiestan de forma casi abrupta, en espacio de muy pocas generaciones, y convergen en caracteres casi idénticos que incluyen de forma simultanea:

  • Un pronunciado aumento en tamaño y masa, duplicando e incluso triplicando el del progenitor.
  • Pedomorfismo en los huesos pectorales y alares, así como una considerable reducción de los huesos de la cintura escapular y los omóplatos, resultando en la incapacidad de vuelo.
  • Una coloración parduzca-grisácea en el plumaje.
  • Una mayor en robustez en los huesos de las patas y mayor grosor de los huesos pélvicos, más adaptadas para el ámbito terrestre.
  • Un pronunciado cambio en la morfología del cráneo y pico en general.

Los ejemplares presentarán la mayoría o la totalidad de estas características tendiendo a converger a un aspecto similar al género Raphus. La mayoría de los casos no logra sobrevivir a una edad reproductiva en la naturaleza debido a la inefectividad de sus adaptaciones al entorno.

Soy consciente de la incerteza de algunos investigadores respecto a la razón que justifica asignar tantas y tan variadas instancias bajo una misma asignación en nuestra base de datos, sin evidencia de una relación clara entre los mismos.

He de aclarar que la relación existe, aunque fue omitida del archivo por brevedad, permítanme resumirla.

Ni uno solo de los ítems ha mostrado ningún vestigio medible de actividad o intervención anómala convencional, séase ontoquinetica, taumatúrgica, nigromántica, o cualesquiera en la que pudieran pensar.

Ni uno solo de los ítems ha sido afectado por alteradores de la realidad.

Ni uno solo de los ítems ha sido creado o influenciado con el propósito explícito o subyacente de ejercer o adquirir sus propiedades previo a manifestarlas.

Y sin embargo, todos y cada uno de los ítems tienen un común denominador imposible de ignorar. Una huella específica y constante en cada uno de ellos.

Un rastro sutil pero cuantificable de radiación Akiva.

En términos generales, si tan diversas anomalías fueron denominadas como variables de una misma designación fue porque todas surgieron de lo que parecen ser los mismos preceptos.

Si pude haber un dodo, habrá un dodo. Si algo puede ser un dodo, lo será.

Y entonces surge la pregunta; por qué un ente, o una fuerza quizás, más allá de nuestra comprensión buscaría persistentemente influenciar elementos en nuestra realidad para resucitar específicamente a una especie de paloma regordeta de una pequeña isla en el océano indico.

La población civil sabe que el dodo está extinto. Y hasta que traer especies desaparecidas de la noche a la mañana se vuelva viable y normal, nuestro deber y ocupación seguirá siendo que el ave siga extinta.

En todo caso, no sabemos el por qué, pero pensadolo bien, al final, bien podría no ser más que un capricho.
